    Introduction: Because IOT spans the both the physical and cyber worlds, project management in IOT involves a combination of standard practices from both conventional and software fields.

     

    Key engineering challenges. 

    • Deployment is one of the biggest challenges in IOT. A key to effective deployment is modularity (see interoperability), which is important to support the technicians that actually have to install, test and commission a system. You've potentially got tens of thousands of things in a medium-sized deployment. If they're not modular, if the logical view of them isn't modular and the configurability of them isn't modular, the deployment cycle and the maintenance cycle is going to be severely impacted.
